I've Got Sunshine

It's the weekend and I know the temptation is to relax and take it easy. Here in Michigan the weather is rarely consistent but today is sunny and warm. The first thing I did was open all of my curtains and blinds to let the sun in. We vastly underestimate the beneficial power of the sun. If the sun wasn't enough to energize you, grab a cup of coffee or tea and head outside.

Most of us have been stuck inside in some way or another. Especially as of late. More of a reason to get outside and get moving. The sun is amazing in just how beneficial it's rays can be. Are you aware that the sun provides us with vitamin D? You may be thinking, "What's the point?" Well for starters our immune system is our saving grace with the current state of the pandemic. Vitamin D is am immune system booster! No big deal. Just out here saving lives. Have any of you been feeling a little blue surrounded by your four walls for this length of time? Mr Sunshine to the rescue again. The sun also improves our mood and cognition. We feel and think better!? I'll take it. I mean.. Does it get any better than this?? Well I am glad you asked!

What else is there that provides us with similar benefits? Oh, that's right. Exercise. When exercising, the body releases endorphins that make you feel amazing. We can't forget about the fact that regular exercise also improves immune system, mood, and heart health. What if we took the two (Sun and Exercise) and combined them? We would be virtually unstoppable.

Take the time today to take the dog for a jog. Get the kids out and play a good old fashion game of tag. Go for a bike ride. Do some gardening (shudder). These are just a few ideas in a limitless array of opportunities to get up, get outside and get moving. My only real recommendation is to get outside and enjoy it with the activities or people you love.
